This Is What Happens When You Have "Free" Childcare

Well it's a good thing Jack had a relaxing weekend

cause come Monday it was back to the grind.

Luckily I found these pictures on my mom's camera,

now i have proof of their baby sweat shop!

1st lesson of the day...

I am so very thankful that my mom and dad are able to watch to our baby boy all day and that they are teaching him the value in a hard days work at such a young age!!

Buddy's Not So Busy Day!

Today was a lazy day for Jack.

He took a few long naps this morning which let me get lots of house work done.

He woke up from his 2nd nap at 2:00!!! After sleeping all morning buddy needed a bath!

Please don't mind my horrible singing.

Jack seems to love Carrie Underwood, I just love his face or should i say faces.

I just had to add this bath time video too. His face cracks me up!

After his bath we got our super cute onesie on that Auntie Whiteny made and

read some books that Auntie Teri in Minnesota got him.

What can he say?? he loves books!

He really seemed to like story time or he's just used to me babbling :)

Either way I'm excited he has three different sets of these book and tons more in his room.

One set is about fire trucks, tug boats, and police cars and another is about animals.

They are super cute.

Organic Rice Cereal Here We Come!!!

Buddy had his 1st big boy taste of rice cereal last night!

Okay.. So Jack Will Never Be Cold or Naked

I am not big on party games, never have been never will be, so for my shower i didn't want to do a ton of "guess what chocolate bar is melted to look like poop in the diaper" games. So i told whit that i wanted to get a bunch of onesies and have everyone decorate one for Jack. She bought a bunch of onesies sizes 3-24months. I think everyone had a great time!

I will soon be doing a post on Jack's best buddy, I was gonna save this onesie for that post but i just couldn't resist. Jack's best buddy Ben lives across the street and he is 3 1/3 months older than Jack. Jen (his mom) made this onesie at the shower and also made Ben one that says Jack's Bestie and on the back Team Hilman-Tabios. I think Ben out grew his already or I would have posted a pic with both of them in it.

Wrapped Up In Your Love

My sweet little boy will never be cold, thanks to all the people who love him.

There are some cute blankies out there that you can buy these days, but nothing says loving like a homemade blankie or quilt... here are a few of Jack's.

For the last few years my mom has been collecting Pendleton shirts.

They are some of my dad's favorite flannel hunting shirts.

Over the last few months she has made 4 Pendleton quilts for the men in her life.

The 1st was Jacks, then my brothers for his birthday,

then Sammy and Dad got theirs for Father's Day!

The back has a pocket from an actual shirt.

It's to store their chapstick and what not while their sleeping in the tent!

The edging around Jack's quilt is the same as the bedding in his room!!

It's actually the skirt of his bed set!

My mom is part of the quilting ministry at our church

and when you have your baby dedicated you get a quilt.

My mom claimed this one for Jack when I was 7 months pregnant.

There are four squares that have a scripture written on them .

He is so much more valuable than the birds!

My good friend from High School had this sweet quilt made for baby Jack.

It is sooo cute. It has pictures from Jack's first few weeks!!

My Mom's Mom (Great Grandma McGee to Jack) is quite the quilter!!

The quilt is "Hey Diddle Diddle. The Cat and The Fiddle.

The Cow jumped over the Moon."

Which just happens to be one of Jack's favorite songs!

The blankie above is another one of my mom's creations.

(Love the Fire Trucks, Ambulance and even a Police Car!)

She made Jack this "swaddle" blankie for his 3 month birthday.

These are two more "swaddle" blankies my mom made.

The checkered one even has matching burp rags. So cute.

My dad laughs because he said most grandmas just wash the blanket when it is dirty,

my mom makes Jack a new one.

And thank goodness she does. Jack still loves and needs to be swaddle at night

(he doesn't stay asleep if his arms are free),

but most of his swaddle blankies don't fit him anymore,

i gotta quit feeding this kid :)
This sweet creation was a gift from Marc and Cheryl Vetter, Marc's mom makes these outfits and blankies for local hospitals. Jack will be cozy this winter.

How great is this afghan??!!! Not only does it match our house but it was made with lots of love my "Grandma" Angie from Chicago she even delivered it to Jack personally! He sleeps with it every night in his bassinet!

Jack's next sweet blankie is from Miss Virgina.

She has been a dear friend of our family since we moved to Las Vegas when I was 10.

It is a super soft pale yellow blankie with the prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep..." on it.

I wonder if she knew that 30 years ago my mom was making her very first blankie

with the exact same prayer...

You know the question " If your house was on fire and you could only grab 3 things,

what would you grab?"

Well, this blankie has always been one of my 3.
I called it my "EB" and it went everywhere with me and I slept with it forever.
My nursery was red checkered with a Ragged Ann and Andy theme
As you can see it is a little tattered and torn
but that's how you know it was loved.
Luckily I was born a girl, a little boy may have looked kinda funny carrying around a blankie with a praying blond haired girl on it!
While God was knitting me together my sweet 19 year old momma

was knitting little birdies and squirrels.

Thank you to all the ladies that love my baby so much.

Each one of these blankies is a gift that he can keep forever.

And I know that he will be wrapped in love for many nights to come!

He is one blessed boy!
